Welcome to membership in the Scott Hamilton Skating Club! Skating club membership provides many benefits such as the ability to test and compete in US Figure Skating sanctioned events. Most importantly, skating club membership is a community of support and encouragement. The Scott Hamilton Skating Club hosts an annual competition, social events, community love projects and more! By becoming a Home Club member of the Scott Hamilton Skating Club, depending on the membership chosen, you also become a member of U.S. Figure Skating. The Scott Hamilton Skating Club membership year runs July 1 – June 30. We accept new members year-round at full membership rates, no matter the date joined. Members wishing to transfer to SHSC from another club in mid-year may do so for no transfer fee.
Members under the age of 18 must have a Parent/Guardian membership purchased in conjunction with the skating membership. US Figure Skating requires that both parents/guardians must be identified in the profile of members under the age of 18, if applicable.
Scott Hamilton Skating Club members agree to abide by U.S. Figure Skating Association’s SkateSafe guidelines. Current guidelines require that ALL members 18 and older are required to be SkateSafe compliant. Members under 18 are encouraged to complete SkateSafe training as well. Additionally, your Entryeeze application/renewal process also now includes Codes of Conduct forms, so that we’re reminded to treat each other and our sport with integrity and mutual respect.
2023 – 2024 Membership Categories & Rates:
| Home Club/First Skater | If you/your skater is the first &/or only skating members of your family, you/they are a First Skater who is therefore a Full Skating Member, and are entitled to all Club benefits, including SHSC testing privileges through all levels of testing, participation in all SHSC sponsored competitions, exhibitions, special events, and social functions. Members receive a subscription to SKATING magazine and coverage under USFS’s sports accident insurance policy. Includes voting privileges and Board membership, if over the age of 18. One parent must also join SHSC if First Skater is under 18. Club jackets are available for purchase with this membership. | $170 |
| Home Club/Additional Skater | If you/your skater is a First Skater member, and you are a parent/sibling/guardian/spouse who wishes to compete &/or test yourself, Additional Skater is for you. Additional skating family members are invited to join SHSC at a discounted rate, and will receive all the membership benefits of Full Skating Membership (except that subscription to SKATING magazine is limited to one per family.) This option is only available in conjunction with the purchase of a Home Club/First Skater Member. Includes voting privileges and Board membership, if over the age of 18. | Second Club/First Skater |
If you/your skater tests and/or competes at any USFS level and belong to a home club other than SHSC, but would like membership in the SHSC, Second Club/First Skater membership is for you. Second Club/First Skater members are entitled to all club benefits; including SHSC testing privileges, participation in all sponsored competitions, exhibitions, special events, and social functions. Does not include a subscription to SKATING Magazine. One parent/guardian must join SHSC if skater is under age of 18. Club jackets are available for purchase with this membership. |

| Bridge/ LTS USA | If you/your skater has been a member of the US Figure Skating Learn to Skate USA, have a LTS USA member number, and have never been a member of a club before is the membership for you to transition to being in the SHSC. Bridge/LTS USA Members under the age of 18 are required to have a parent join in addition to the skater. Bridge/LTS USA Members are entitled to all Club benefits, including SHSC testing privileges through all levels of testing, participation in all SHSC sponsored competitions, exhibitions, special events, and social functions. Members receive a subscription to SKATING magazine (one per household) and coverage under USFS’s sports accident insurance policy. This membership includes voting privileges if over 18. | Bridge/Additional LTS USA | If you/your skater are an additional family member of a Bridge/LTS USA member, you/your skater have been a member of the US Figure Skating Learn to Skate USA, have a LTS USA member number, and have never been a member of a club before is the membership for you to transition to being in the SHSC. Bridge/LTS USA Members under the age of 18 are required to have a parent join in addition to the skater. Bridge/LTS USA Members are entitled to all Club benefits, including SHSC testing privileges through all levels of testing, participation in all SHSC sponsored competitions, exhibitions, special events, and social functions. Members receive coverage under USFS’s sports accident insurance policy. This membership includes voting privileges if over 18. Club jackets are available for purchase with this membership. | $35 |
| Introductory/First Skater |
If you/your skater has never been a member of any Club or a US Figure Skating member in the past, this is the membership for you. One parent is required to join in addition to Introductory Members under the age of 18. Introductory Members are entitled to all Club benefits, including SHSC testing privileges through all levels of testing, participation in all SHSC sponsored competitions, exhibitions, special events, and social functions. Members receive a subscription to SKATING magazine and coverage under USFS’s sports accident insurance policy. This membership includes voting privileges if over 18. | Introductory/Additional Skater |
If you are the parent/sibling/guardian/spouse of an Introductory Member, who has never had any previous Club or USFS membership, you may purchase a Subsequent Introductory membership. Subsequent Introductory members are entitled to all club benefits, including SHSC testing privileges through all levels of testing, participation in all SHSC sponsored competitions, exhibitions, special events, and social functions. | Collegiate | If you are a full-time college student and SHSC is your home club, this full Home Club membership is for you. It is valid for 4 years at the one-time fee. You must be a full-time college student. Proof of full-time college/university attendance is required. Collegiate members must designate the SHSC as their home club. | Home Club/Parent/Guardian | If you are the parent(s) or guardian(s) of Home Club/First, Home Club/Additional, Collegiate, Introductory and Bridge skaters, this membership is for you. This member may be a skater or not a skater. A Parent/Guardian membership is required if the skating member is under the age of 18 and shares the same permanent address. NOTE: This membership must be purchased in conjunction with the skater membership. | 2nd Club/Parent/Guardian | If you are the parent or guardian of an Associate Member, and you yourself do not skate, test or compete, this membership is for you. A Parent/Guardian membership is required if the 2nd Club skating member is under the age of 18. This membership must be purchased in conjunction with an 2nd Club/Associate Skater membership and the parent/guardian and skater must have the same permanent address. | Home Club/Coach |
If you are a USFS coach for whom the SHSC home rink is your primary business location, and 18 years or older, this membership is for you. Lessons must be taught at least once per month, including both Learn to Skate/Basic Skills, and freestyles sessions. Benefits include voting privileges, SHSC Board eligibility, competing and testing through all levels of testing, and participation in all SHSC activities. Members receive a subscription to SKATING magazine. Club jackets are available for purchase with this membership. NOTE: Coaches must provide liability insurance certificate naming SHSC as additionally insured, complete SafeSport training and abide by USFS Coach Code of Conduct. |

If you are a USFS coach, but SHSC is not your home rink, this is a great membership that allows you to associate with the Club without giving up privileges at your home Club. This membership does not include benefits such as voting privileges and SHSC Board eligibility, but does include testing through all levels, and participation in all SHSC activities. Club jackets are available for purchase with this membership. NOTE: Coaches must provide liability insurance certificate naming SHSC as additionally insured, complete SafeSport training and abide by USFS Coach Code of Conduct. |
